Ep. 15: Too Hot to Spiral

The World Is F*cked. Now What? Every year it’s something.

War. Economic collapse. A new scandal. A new “this changes everything.”
Another headline designed to make you feel small.

And if we’re being honest? It’s exhausting.

It’s never been easier to feel like the world is broken and therefore, what’s the point of building anything inside of it?

So what do you do when everything feels chaotic, corrupt, and out of your control… but you still have ambition?

The Rabbit Hole Is Real

Let’s talk about it.

Doom scrolling feels productive.
Consuming information feels powerful.
“Being aware” feels responsible.

But at some point, awareness turns into paralysis.

You’re not researching anymore.
You’re spiraling. And spiraling feels dramatic. It feels deep. It feels like you’re uncovering something important.

But it’s not building anything.

There’s a difference between being informed and being consumed.

The Truth Won’t Save You

You can know everything that’s wrong with the world.

You can read every thread. Listen to every podcast. Follow every scandal.

And still have absolutely nothing to show for it.

Being awake doesn’t automatically make you effective.

The uncomfortable truth?
Personal excellence is more rebellious than posting about chaos.

  • Taking care of your body.

  • Building your career.

  • Starting the project.

  • Improving your mind.

Most Breakdowns Are Just Boredom

This is the part no one wants to hear.

A lot of “existential crisis” energy is just… unused potential.

When you’re bored, uninspired, under-challenged, and under-stimulated… your brain will find drama.

If it can’t build something meaningful, it will create something emotional.

Meltdowns. Overthinking. Picking fights. Spiraling about the state of the world.

Because the alternative would be to sit down and do the work.

And that’s harder.

Stop Romanticizing the Spiral

There’s something seductive about the breakdown.

It feels poetic. It feels intense. It feels like depth.

But spiraling isn’t depth. It’s avoidance.

You don’t need another rabbit hole.
You need structure.

Movement. Discipline. Purpose.

When we did 75 Hard, we didn’t have time to spiral.
Two workouts. Reading. Work. Responsibilities.

There wasn’t room for doom scrolling because there wasn’t room for boredom.

And boredom is dangerous.

So… Now What?

If the world feels chaotic, good.

Use it.

Let it sharpen you instead of soften you.

You don’t have to be delusional.
You don’t have to ignore what’s happening.
But you also don’t have to make it your entire personality.

You’re too smart to spiral.
You’re too capable to collapse.
And you’re definitely too ambitious to quit.

Build anyway.
